Hi, I'm Brooke...
...and I'm an artist and knitwear designer based in Kilkenny, Ireland. My grandmother was a World War 2 Bomb Girl called Beatrice Rose, and she was part of one of the biggest social shifts in history for women!
I’m a creative maker based in the beautiful city of Kilkenny, Ireland. My work brings together two passions: textile craft and visual art. From hand-knitted pieces made with 100% merino wool sourced from Donegal Yarns, to original artwork and thoughtfully designed paper goods, everything I create is rooted in care, creativity, and attention to detail.
During lockdown, I picked up machine knitting, inspired by my senior dog, Roxy. I wanted to make her a cosy jumper to keep her warm during chilly days, and that small project quickly grew into something much bigger. Creating for her not only deepened our bond, but also filled those quiet days with purpose and creativity. That first jumper sparked a journey I’m still on today.
Alongside my knitwear, I’m also an artist, creating original pieces that are transformed into greeting cards, stickers, bookmarks and prints. I love turning my artwork into small, meaningful items that people can gift, collect, or keep as everyday reminders of beauty.
In December 2023, I launched my small business, Beatrice Rose Design, at Mountain View Markets in Co. Kilkenny. Since then, I’ve travelled across the South East of Ireland, taking part in craft markets and connecting with wonderful customers, organisers, and fellow makers. These experiences continue to shape my work and inspire new ideas.
As my business grows, I’m excited to keep exploring the space where art and craft meet, and to share more of what I love.
